Perfect Entire Wise And Joyful

James 1:2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

The undesirable things in the passage are temptations, trying, imperfection, incompleteness, wanting everything and a lack of wisdom. When we have wisdom from God we will know that He has good and noble purposes for the undesirable things and they actually bring us to the patience, perfect, entire, wise and joyful. There are some things we to need to learn the hard way. We don*t learn them as well in an easy way. Sometimes we aren*t wise enough to learn them very well from the experience of others or even from the Bible itself. Then too, we might add persecution to the list of undesirables and blessings from God to the list of good things.

Matthew 5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Notice that undesirable things are not excluded from the *all things* in Romans 8:28.

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The passage adds two more requisites, that we love God and that we trust Him enough to respond to His call into His purpose. It will be worth it all when we see Christ with the eyes of our heart now and one day face to face.

1 Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Isaiah 26:3: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
